Editorial Guidelines

Last updated: July 2026

Korean Medical Index is committed to accuracy, independence, transparency, and editorial integrity. These guidelines describe the standards that govern everything we publish, and — just as importantly — how our content is actually produced.

How Our Content Is Produced

We are a translation and curation platform. Most of our articles begin as English summaries of Korean-language news reports, produced with the assistance of AI-based translation and drafting tools. We believe in being fully transparent about this:

  • AI is used to translate and draft; it does not publish anything on its own.
  • Every AI-assisted draft is generated under strict rules that prohibit inventing facts, statistics, names, institutions, funding figures, or quotations.
  • No article is published automatically. Drafts are held for human editorial review before anything goes live.

Sourcing and Attribution

Because our work is built on existing reporting, we credit and link the original source on our articles wherever a source is available. Our summaries aim to faithfully reflect the source material and never to fabricate or embellish it. We do not create quotations or attribute statements to named experts unless those statements appear in the original source.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial judgment is never for sale. We do not accept payment from any hospital, clinic, or brand in exchange for favorable or false coverage. Our curation is determined solely by editorial relevance, independent of commercial interests, and any sponsored or commercial content is kept clearly separate from editorial coverage.

Accuracy and Verification

Before publication, a human editor reviews each draft for factual fidelity to its source, removes anything unsupported, and confirms that no fabricated details have been introduced. Our content is informational in nature and is not a substitute for professional medical advice — see our Medical Disclaimer.

Corrections

If an error is identified — whether internally or brought to our attention by a reader — we review it against the original source and update the content as needed. Maintaining the trust of our global readers is our highest editorial priority.
